so what do people think of twittr
I keep coming back to this haiku-style approach to commentary in a world where anything in volume seems tantamount to correctness.

Are you usung it? Do you detest it? Opines requested.

A short ps by way of the theme of this post:

Few things can be as cathartic as portioning out wtermelon for desert after a long, stressful day by pulling a butcher's blade from the block and burying that rectangle of steel inside the unsuspection melon. Such a nice, soft, wet thunk is made (grin).

I twitter, and what the hell ... I see nothing wrong with it. It's just a way of posting updates to my Myspace, Facebook and (via Loudtwitter) LJ pages simultaneously more-or-less. Anybody who is annoyed by it doesn't have to notice it ...

And I like cantaloupe a heckofalot better than watermelon, but hey, it's all in the "thunk", innit?

I'm not somehow morally opposed to people twittering away, but I haven't found myself interested, even when it's people whose commentary otherwise interests me. I'm sure there are people whose twitter posts are pithy and evocative. Mostly the ones I've encountered are things like, "Back from lunch with D. Trying to get more done this afternoon."

I can't say that I've yet seen anyone Twitter anything more interesting than "Went out for milk. Came back with cookies, too." I've got more than enough minutia in my own day to be interested in other people's.

However, I'm also someone who doesn't send or receive text messages, and I have only two pieces of web presence (my LJ and my website). The idea that there are brief items of interest that I simply must know about, or that people need to broadcast their lives over multiple channels, is pretty foreign to me. Seems like a waste of good bandwidth, and fodder for more Internet clutter.

I agree with delkytlar and mrissa, in that it's usually inane status updates. I just don't care to waste time on that. I waste my time on enough other distractions already.
